MUSEUM OF RUSSIAN IMPRESSIONISM CONTINUES RESEARCHES IN THE FIELD OF RUSSIAN AVANT-GARDE

The Museum of Russian Impressionism continues its research in the field of Russian avant-garde and opens the exhibition “Yuri Annenkov. The revolution behind the door. " The works of the famous artist, illustrator of the poem “The Twelve” Alexander Blok, a brilliant portrait painter, in whose works the images of the Silver Age of Russian culture are captured, will be presented for the first time in such a volume: more than 100 paintings, graphic portraits and sketches for productions from leading museums and private collections in Russia and France. The exposition will display the most significant trends in the work of Yuri Annenkov in Russia and after his departure to France in 1924. Viewers will see Annenkov, a painter, theater artist, book illustrator - a tireless experimenter, whose work reflected the turbulent and difficult period of Russian history in the first half of the 20th century.

For the first time, the works of the collection of the National Center for Arts and Culture of Georges Pompidou in Paris, created by the master in exile and not previously exhibited in Russia, will be shown. The exhibition will also include works from major Russian museums: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. A.S. Pushkin, State Central Theater Museum. A.A. Bakhrushin, St. Petersburg Museum of Theater and Music, V-A-C Foundation, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and other museum institutions and private collections. Visitors will see the works of Annenkov, written both in Russia and in France after emigrating in 1924. Among them, "View of the Pantheon from the Luxembourg Gardens", "Forest.
