AR: What is the main quality for a good football player?

Кirill Кombarov: The main quality of a good football player ... of any athlete in fact are hard work, dedication and commitment, first and foremost.

AR: What is your main achievement?

Кirill Кombarov: I believe that my family, my children are of course my main achievement. My wife and I have three children and we are now expecting our fourth son.

AR: What is the measurement of success measured for you?

Кirill Кombarov: Success is measured by the achievement of the goal set, because if you set a goal and do not achieve it, then there is no success, as such. Success means result, first and foremost.

AR: What was your best goal?

Кirill Кombarov: I cannot possibly pick one best goal in my career, since I have had several of them already - very beautiful ones. One of them was scored at the Zenith gate back in 2008, when we beat Zenith 1:0. I used to play for the Dynamo at the time.

AR: What will you do when you stop playing football? 

Кirill Кombarov: This year, my brother and I received category A coaching licenses, so maybe I will become a coach. But besides this, there are plans to set up a children's football school, to take care of children and develop them as football players.

AR: How did you come up with an idea to open a school? What is special about it?

Кirill Кombarov: The idea of ​​opening a football school together with my brother was born a long time ago when we founded the Domodedovo football club. We tried to open a children's football school at the same time, but it failed unfortunately. We did not abandon the idea however. 

AR: What is special about this school? 

Кirill Кombarov: I am trying to elaborate a new system for the education of young football players, and I will try to implement it in my school. I will not tell or disclose any details though. If everything works out and we do manage to implement all our plans and ideas, then after a certain time our students will be playing for the Premier League, I believe.

AR: What advice would you give to a boy who wants to devote himself to football?

Кirill Кombarov: There is only one advice I could give- the most important thing is to love football. This is probably the parents’ task in the first place - to cultivate a love for football, a true interest in football, and of course, as I have already mentioned, you really need to devote yourself completely to this, to give yourself one hundred percent, and then, eventually there will be results. There is no other way.

AR: What do you prefer to spend your money on when spare cash appears?

Кirill Кombarov: I have a big family, we love to travel, and when there is free time and an opportunity to go somewhere arises, we use it, of course. I try to engage in charity as much as possible. A certain part of my money goes there also...

AR: What is the best kind of holiday for you?

Кirill Кombarov: I prefer outdoor activities of late, so we go to Majorca every year-my wife and all the children of course. It is such a versatile island - you can entertain yourself with a wide variety of sports there, be it running, swimming, cycling, or kite sports and the like. We were in Bali recently - we were surfing there. I love any kind of outdoor activities in general.

AR: What would a real man never do?

Кirill Кombarov: There are many things that a real man would not do. He would never betray, for a start. - What was the happiest moment in your life? - It was when my children were born that I felt the happiest.

AR: How does your wife manage to combine successful business and child care?

Кirill Кombarov: I think the secret to her success is that she does what she likes. Her business brings her great pleasure, a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, plus a certain income. While children give you the sense of purpose, obviously. And we love being parents. I really think that you can combine anything. As long as you enjoy doing it.

AR: Do you compete with your brother?

Кirill Кombarov: There was a spirit of rivalry between my brother and me since early childhood - we always try to somehow upstage each other and be the first. And this spirit is still present. It is probably less marked than it used to be when we were kids, but it is nonetheless in our genes - we always compete in everything we do.

AR: What is more important for you in a good car – is it comfort or speed?

Кirill Кombarov: Everything should be combined in a good car - both comfort and speed, and you should really like it of course. There are so many nice, beautiful looking, fast cars out there, but you choose the one that suits your spirit.
